The story

Built by a forklift driver.

Age is just a data type. I'm Chris Webb, a warehouse worker Monday through Wednesday, indie developer Thursday through Saturday. I'm 59 years old, I operate a forklift for a living, and I built a word game platform from scratch with a little help from AI.

I've had a game in my head for at least 25 years. This is not that game, but for the past several years building a Wordle clone has been a popular training exercize for people learning to program.

With FlexWord, I take it beyond clone. Let's face it, if the New York Times bought the plans for the Model T from Henry Ford back in the day, we would all be driving black, boxy cars that we have to hand-crank to start.

TheForklift.dev LLC develops and publishes word games for mobile and web. The FlexWord family launched on Reddit via Devvit in 2026 and is expanding to iOS and Android. This is what happens when you don't quit.
